Smart Wi-Fi device no longer sending notifications
If you're having trouble receiving notifications on your mobile device from the Feit Electric App, there are a few settings and permissions you need to enable. Follow these steps to ensure you can receive notifications and that they are sent correctly.
Settings in Feit App
- Open the Feit Electric App on your mobile device.
- Navigate to the Profile option and select Settings.
- Select the Push Notifications option.
- Enable the following settings: Enable Notifications, Alarm, Home, and Notification.
Permissions in iOS
- Navigate to your mobile device Settings.
- Look for the Feit Electric Option.
- Allow the following permissions: Location, Bluetooth, Local Network, Microphone, Notifications, and Cellular Data.
- Make sure that Notifications are turned "ON".
Permissions in Android
- Navigate to your mobile/tablet settings and select "Apps" or "Apps & Notification".
- Select the Feit Electric App and navigate to the Permission option.
- Allow the following permissions: Location, Camera, Microphone, and Storage.
- For Android 11, the permissions for Camera, Microphone, and Location must be set to "Only While App is in use". For Storage or Files & Media, permission must be set to "Allow all Files".
- In the "APP Info" for the Feit APP, in Android, make sure that all permissions are enabled.
- Lastly, completely power off your phone for at least one minute. (This is important)
By following these steps, you should be able to receive notifications on your mobile device. If you continue to have trouble, there is one last attempt you can make on the Smart Device itself.
Cut power to the Smart Device
- Regardless of which Smart Wi-Fi Device you have, completely cut power to the device. If you have a Floodlight Security Camera or a Video Doorbell, that might mean to either flip a wall switch to off or flip the circuit breaker.
- Keep the device powered off for a full 10 seconds.
- After the 10 seconds, restore power to the Smart Device.
- The Smart Device should reconnect to your router automatically. If it doesn't, simply reconnect the device to your router.
- Once online, you should be able to now receive notifications when motion is detected.
