Step 2: Smart Dimmer Wiring-Single Pole Dimmer
1.Turn Off Power
Be sure to turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse and test with voltage meter reader to make sure power is completely off before proceeding.
2. Identify Your Wiring
Remove the existing wall plate to identify your wiring. If you see a white wire or a group of them, you most likely have neutral wiring. The dimmer will not work without neutral wiring. Consult a qualified electrician to install the appropriate wires.
3. Label Your Wires
Use the labels included to identify your wires.
- Line Wire=Black label
- Neutral Wire=White label
- Ground Wire=Green label
- Load Wire=Red label
4. Disconnect Wires and Remove the Old Switch
5. Strip the Wires
Strip your wires to reveal around 3/4 in.
6. Connect the Wires
Insert each wire into the appropriately marked terminal hole on the back of the smart dimmer. Then secure each connection by tightening the connector screws.

1. Flickering While Dimming
If flickering occurs, be sure to tighten any loose bulbs, and make sure that all bulbs are rated dimmable. If flickering continues, this may be caused by surges or spikes in your electricity. Manually setting the lowest dimming point to the lowest dimming point may help. To manually set the lowest dimming point press and hold the dim up and dim down buttons simultaneously for at least 5 seconds. The power indicator circle on the switch will start blinking.
2. Set the Lowest Dimming Point
Use the dimming buttons to select the lowest dimming point without any visible flickering. Then press and hold the dimming buttons for 5 seconds to set or until the power indicator circle light turns into a solid light.
